Satellite Island

There are very few places in the world where your entire wedding venue is a private island. Satellite Island sits in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel south of Hobart, ringed by calm channel water and old-growth coastline, accessible only by boat or light aircraft from Bruny Island.

The island sleeps eight across the Summerhouse — three bedrooms with coastal interiors and a fireplace — and the Boathouse, perched at the water’s edge with a decked area over the dock. The whole island is yours: kitchen garden, orchard, oyster lease, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkelling gear, and a 24-hour seafaring concierge.

Weddings here require a three-night minimum stay. In exchange, you get a ceremony location, a reception setting, and accommodation all in one place — with no other guests, no strangers, and nothing between you and the channel. Filming here is extraordinary.
