Highfield Historic Site

Historic Site

Highfield Historic Site overlooks Stanley from the hillside above town, with panoramic views across Circular Head to Bass Strait. The estate dates to 1832 and its collection of original stone outbuildings — the main house, workers’ quarters, chapel, and farm buildings — are among the best-preserved colonial structures in Tasmania.

Parks Tasmania specifically recommends Highfield as a wedding venue, noting that ceremony, photographs, and reception can all be held in the one location. The combination of historic architecture, coastal views, and the charm of the Stanley peninsula makes it one of the most distinctive settings in the Northwest.

Bookings are essential through Parks Tasmania. All guests require a valid park pass.
