Clarendon Estate

Heritage Manor

Built in 1838 by wool-baron James Cox, Clarendon is considered one of the greatest Georgian mansions in Australia. The National Trust property overlooks the South Esk River, with terraced gardens, a colonnade, and views across the pastoral Midlands that have changed little since the 19th century.

Private hire arrangements with the National Trust are available for weddings. The combination of architectural scale, heritage gravitas, and the particular quality of the Midlands light — clear, sharp, with a luminous quality unlike anywhere else in Tasmania — makes Clarendon a genuinely exceptional filming location.
