About this post
First time working with a wedding videographer? Here's exactly what to expect when we're there — and why you'll barely notice us.
One of the most common things couples tell us after their wedding is that they forgot we were there. That’s exactly how we like it.
We’re not directing scenes or asking you to pose. We’re not getting in front of the photographer or telling your guests where to stand. We’re simply present — watching, listening, and capturing what actually happens.
Here’s what a typical filming day looks like.
Getting ready
For most packages, we arrive during the getting-ready phase. This isn’t about staged shots of someone zipping up a dress. It’s about being present when your mum fixes your veil for the first time, or when you laugh so hard at your groomsmen that you nearly ruin your makeup. Those moments are real, and they make a film feel alive.
The ceremony
We position our cameras to cover the ceremony from multiple angles — typically one on the couple, one wider for atmosphere, and a handheld operator who can move quietly through the space. We use radio microphones on the celebrant and groom to capture audio cleanly, regardless of venue acoustics or wind.
Portraits and in-between moments
While your photographer works with you for portraits, we’re capturing detail shots, venue atmosphere, guest candids, and the small moments that make every wedding unique. We’re not competing for the same angles — we’re finding different ones.
The reception
Speeches, first dance, cake cutting, the first time guests hit the floor — we cover it all. We keep our presence low-key and our setups minimal. You shouldn’t have to think about us.
Handover
At the end of the night, we pack up quietly. From there, your footage goes into post-production, and you’ll have your wedding film within 30 days.
If you have questions about how we work or want to talk through your specific day, we’re always happy to chat.
