About this post
From the glassy water of Peppermint Bay to the vines of Frogmore Creek, Tasmania's venues are built for beautiful wedding films. Here's where we love to work.
Tasmania is a remarkable place to make a wedding film. The light here is different — softer, more directional, with dramatic skies that change by the minute. The landscapes range from intimate vineyard gardens to open coastal headlands. And almost every venue we work at has at least one moment that makes us stop and think this is why we do this.
Here are some of our favourite venues to film at across the state.
Peppermint Bay, Woodbridge
Looking out over the D’Entrecasteaux Channel with Bruny Island on the horizon, Peppermint Bay is one of the most visually arresting venues in Tasmania. Ceremonies on the water’s edge catch the afternoon light perfectly, and the interior spaces give us beautiful, warm backgrounds for speeches and dancing.
Frogmore Creek Winery, Cambridge
Twenty minutes from Hobart, Frogmore Creek offers rows of vines, open skies, and an elegant event space that photographs and films beautifully in every season. The golden hour here is extraordinary — we often capture shots that look like they belong in a cinema.
MONA, Hobart
For couples who want something genuinely different, MONA is unlike anywhere else in the world. The raw concrete interiors, the riverfront setting, and the sheer visual drama of the space make for wedding films that are completely unique.
The Country Club, Launceston
One of Tasmania’s most established wedding venues, the Country Club balances elegance with warmth. Large reception spaces, beautiful gardens, and excellent natural light make for a wedding film that feels timeless.
Private Properties Across Tasmania
Some of our favourite films have been made on private farms, vineyards, and homesteads across the island — from the Coal River Valley to the Huon Valley to the orchards of the Tamar. If you have a special place in mind, we’ll make it work.
Wherever you’re getting married in Tasmania, we’d love to talk about your day and what’s possible on film.
